Street KID

August 29, 2016

If I were to say something about my own personal style, it would be that it is ever changing, somewhat of a style-chameleon in my dress sense. What you wear is an immediate reflection of your mood for the day, and I often find that an outfit with even the slightest touch of rock & role makes your day that much more fun.Bring in some torn jeans and my go-to black bandana that I recently found at a flea market in Rome (those Italians always know just what we need). It’s important to note that what I do end up wearing in turn affects where I will be shooting my look to present to you, and since I have no access to a concert stage or an electric guitar, I decided to hit up Al Quoz for them grungy vibes. Of course I had my friend/photographer Hani on call to capture me (and edit me) in all my glory, not really though.

I need to mention that my jeans didn’t come this torn, I always get stopped whenever I wear them, asking me where I bought them from. They are actually Diesel jeans that I’ve had for well over 5 years, I just hadn’t worn them in so long.  Instead of letting them grow old in my closet, I decided to give them a little make over by sending them to my favorite store in Abu Dhabi (The Luxury Arcade) to get torn and distressed in order to make them cool again! with that I slipped into some dirty white hightop converse sneakers, a black long tee, and my FAVORITE black Saint Laurent bomber jacket – yes in this heat. I finished the look off with 2 key accessories of the season, my black Spektr sunglasses and the LA sunset backpack from Saint Laurent.

I want to leave you with this, whatever you end up wearing, make it your own. It is the people who think outside the box who get places in this life. Be different, be unique, be YOU.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
