7-Star Life at the Burj Al Arab

May 20, 2016

It’s not everyday that you get the opportunity to kick back and call one of the most luxurious addresses in the world home! That is just what I did when I checked into the Burj Al Arab.

Dubai is the prosperous star of the United Arab Emirates. It is hailed as one of the fastest growing cities in the world and is home to a culturally diverse, dynamic community. It is one of the world’s top holiday destinations due to the perennial sunshine, a combination of world-class leisure facilities, first-class hotels and the dramatic shoreline, where white sands meet the Arabian Gulf.
The icon of Dubai, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah rises out of its own man-made island 280 meters from the Jumeirah coast, 15km south of the city and 25km from Dubai International Airport. Visible from almost everywhere in the city, it is linked to the shore by a slender, gently curving causeway. The Hotel is designed in the shape of a billowing Arabian dhow sail, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah represents a significant tribute to the nation’s seafaring heritage, talk about next level!

From the moment I checked in, every little detail was highlighted and attended to In what I believe to be one of the best service experiences I have ever gotten IN MY LIFE. Walking into my temporary home away from home, a duplex suite filled with everything from a 24-carat gold iPad to 10 specially designed full size Hermes amenities, and a butler may I add, I was blown away. Throw on top of it that incredible view of Dubai and the water front – I was convinced my life would go down hill from that point! It was a stay where I found myself not leaving the hotel at all, they had the top restaurants available, views, and gave me some of the absolute best experiences I have ever had in Dubai.

I need to take a minute to highlight the beauty that Is the Talise spa, a spa so great that I could live In. It’s hard to imagine a more serene and invigorating atmosphere in which to relax the body and soothe the soul than that of Talise Spa located on 18th floor. The extravagant décor is strongly reminiscent of bathing pools used by ancient Middle Eastern civilizations. Green, red, black and white colours dominate in the palette of the spa areas to represent the four colours of the national United Arab Emirates flag. During my visit to the spa I had hands down the most relaxing massage of my life (It was so good that I passed out half way through) and I couldn’t wait to go back for another one, I was pretty much set for life!

Waking up in the morning and having a breakfast feast like no other at Bab Al Yam restaurant was nothing less than incredible, the weather was just right, the scenery so beautiful, and the staff so kind, but most importantly the vast variety of food I ate (easily putting on 4 Kgs on this visit) was some of the best I have ever had.

If all the above was not enough to knock your socks off, the unrivalled service is a signature of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. For the comfort and convenience of guests, there is a dedicated reception on each floor with check-in conducted in the privacy of the individual suite. Butlers are in attendance 24 hours a day to address the needs of each guest. There are around 1,600 colleagues, which makes the staff-to-suite ratio 8:1 – one of the highest ratios in the world. I mean does life get better than this? I don’t think so…

This is definitely a visit that I will be repeating!!! But for now I will be checking out and being driven back to reality in my own Rolls Royce, a service offered by this incredible hotel.
