Your Story

December 3, 2016

We all have a story to tell. The path we have chosen to walk, the experiences we have come to call our own, and the love, blood, sweat and tears that we have gathered along the way have all shaped us and helped us in every chapter of our book.

From the time you’re born, there’s a plan for you, whether you recognize it or not. This might be visible, or it can be inherently known and will emerge at a certain point in your life. This culminates to make your unique story.

Throughout our journey, we focus so much on what this story entails that we fail to realize that our story can help someone else in their journey. It can help show another person that they too can overcome an obstacle because you were able to as well. Through the adversity and joy, you emerged triumphant.

That is why it is so important to tell our story.

Just know this. Your story can bring hope to a child growing up. It can let them know that it’s okay not to be ok. That at the end of day, there is a light at the end of that dark tunnel of what you’re going through. I wish someone had shared their story with me. It would’ve allowed me to not focus on what’s presently occurring, but seeing it for the big picture.

This is why I come here every night to tell my own, to share with you the lessons I have learned along the way. I want to know that at the end of the day, I was able to make a difference in someone’s life, and I thank you for giving me that opportunity.
