The Phoenicia Hotel

October 9, 2017

It’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog, it has just been the craziest (most AHHHHHMAZING) summer, and it has sadly come to an end. On the plus side I will be able to share more with you on here!

Towards the end of my summer travels, I decided to go to my favorite city in the world, my home town – Beirut. It was the first time I visited Beirut for such a long period of time, I knew that I had to stay somewhere that would feel like home. That is exactly what I did, I chose a hotel that I have been too countless of times, but never had the please of staying at. The Phoenicia Hotel, the 55 year old hotel is known to be one of the regions most prominent properties. Rising above the Mediterranean Sea with its distinctive towers, Phoenicia Hotel enjoys a prime location that places it only a few minutes away from the city’s vibrant downtown business and banking district, and major shopping areas. In addition to its 446 Rooms and Suites providing the ultimate in comfort and luxury, Phoenicia Hotel offers guests a wealth of amenities including a choice of restaurants, SPA facilities, two swimming pools, a shopping arcade, conference/exhibition rooms, and spacious banqueting area.

From the moment I checked in I was welcomed with open arms by some of the loveliest staff I have ever come across, that to me was a sign that this was going to be a GOOD stay. I checked into my room which over look the marina, giving me one of the most beautiful views to wake up too every morning (did I mention I had a balcony, I mean what more could a guy ask for?).

After settling in, taking an afternoon nap on a bed of what felt like clouds, I decided to go out and explore Beirut’s incomparable night life scene. I found myself excited to head back to the hotel to sleep, knowing that when I woke up I would get to work on my tan at Phoenicia’s iconic pool (this was mainly due to the fact that I always say your summer is only as good as your tan).

Day in, day out, I would rush down to their Mosaic restaurant where they had an international buffet breakfast to fill my belly, and if you know me, you know that I am ALL about a GOOD international buffet breakfast – followed by a tanning session by the pool where I also got to sip on some pretty delicious cocktails created especially for the Phoenicia hotel.

On one of the last days of my stay, I decided that after all that work (on my tan) I deserved a much needed massage. I woke up, called the spa and made a booking. I was greeted by a woman who changed my life, Olga, she gave me one of THE BEST massages I have ever received, EVER! I knew that I needed to end the night on a high note, so I decided to dine at Eau De Vie. Inspired by couture fashion, Eau de Vie’s plush, sleek interior immerses guests in a world of refinement, luxury and choice for fine dining. Highlights include the Middle East’s largest collection of whiskies, as well as an impeccable wine list with dedicated wine tasting room and a selection of fine cigars preserved in a walk-in humidor. Located on the 11th floor of the Phoenician Tower, Eau de Vie boasts the best view in town across the Mediterranean Sea. It was some of the best food I have ever had IN MY LIFE, and if I could

It was definitely hard to say goodbye when the check-out time came, but I knew that I wouldn’t be away for too long, as I may just have found my new home away from home in Beirut.
